The sound of salmons

Using archival footage from surveillance cameras in salmon cages and following industry workers and tech experts, this documentary will illustrate how food is produced in the remote region of Chilean Patagonia and the significant changes the industry is facing with AI-controlled cameras and underwater robots replacing traditional roles like feed operators and divers.

After the municipality's decision to save the local community center from bankruptcy, Majd, a nursing assistant, decides to investigate how people think our tax money should be allocated. Using his phone as a camera, he tries to bring attention to healthcare issues in his improvised role as a social commentator, while also being challenged in his views on what is needed to build a prosperous and functioning society.

A fish sings "Don't worry be happy" and the TV character Alf protects against ghosts in a film that, with small gestures and a big heart, portrays the meeting between the 88-year-old Maj and caregiver Majd in rural Sweden. About loneliness and our need for closeness and contact.

A documentary filmmaker travels to Spain to find the invisible workers in the shadow of the fruit industry. Many of them are undocumented migrants who have come across the Mediterranean with the hope of a better future, but are instead exploited in European large-scale agriculture. How can we portray those who have lived in the shadows for so long that they no longer dare to come out into the light?
